What is a creative space you may ask?

It’s generally a warehouse or factory unit, transformed into a space creatives can hire. Whether it be for photoshoots, events, workshops, live videos for the Gram or even parties,

They are normally painted white and have an industrial, minimalist feel to them, but once you throw a balloon garland in and a fancy backdrop you have the ultimate space.

There are many fantastic spaces secretly hidden all throughout Perth. These little beauties are used for some of Perth’s coolest events, spanning from 10K Parties (yes there is such a thing) funky workshops, art exhibitions, businesses launch parties to even private fashion runways.

The use of these babies is endless.

 Why are creative communal spaces on the rise?

The convenience is a major factor, you’re not sprung with ridiculous fees and unreasonable conditions. Majority of the spaces are privately owned so there is more leniency on what you can and can’t have when hiring the space.

And if you’re lucky enough some venues even provide awesome extra’s to hire like Furniture or even Photo Back Drops … Don’t stress that it will be tacky plastic trestle table crashing your booking… nope, from what we have seen everything is on-trend. You can even have food trucks set up in the car park if the owners approve it prior and it is not in use…

What are our thoughts?

Personally, we think that they are great, the possibilities are limitless, and both parties involved most definitely benefit.

Perth is catching up and will soon be one of the most diverse cities in Australia, and quite frankly we are excited for that!
