That time of year has crept upon us once again and nothing says Christmas quite like driving past a once normal suburban home, suddenly exploding in Christmas themed glory.
As the one time of year we can eat our weight’s worth of food or start each day with an advent calendar chocolate, why not heighten the absurdity of the festive season with a hoon around your local suburbs in search of the most impressive display of fairy lights in town?
Here are 10 of the best streets to see Christmas lights Perth.
Meadow Springs Drive
Meadow Springs
It’s no surprise that this house was the winner of the 2017 People’s Choice Award for best Christmas Lights in the Synergy Xmas Lights Trail competition. Each room has a different theme, the place is decked out in over 500 lights and there are over 400 trees that each have different decorations. You’ll be greeted by Santa’s elves on arrival and treated to nibbles and entertainment.
Riverside Lane
Seville Grove
Talk about one worthy of the gram, you’ll want to make sure your phone is ready for this one. There’s a singing and dancing Santa, over 500 remarkable lights and a Christmas Tree with baubles for everyone to sign.
Heron Close
Ballajura
A collection of reindeer, giant candy canes, penguins, polar bears and a Ferris wheel are just a small part of what you can expect to see at this house, along with over 1000 different lights. Santa will also be making an appearance, along with a sausage sizzle and raffles.
Sherlock Rise
Carramar
If you’re on the hunt for an interactive event, this is the place to be. This house hosts lots of different characters for guests to take pictures with, including Santa, the Grinch and a few favourites from Disney. You can also hop into the sleigh parked at the front of the house and get showered in snow. One of our favourites for getting into the Christmas spirit.
Perth
CBD
You’re going to want to donate a whole evening to see the 17 different light shows offered in the CBD. Our picks have to be the Lifeline Christmas Tree, the Tinsel Tunnel and the Light Labyrinth, which are all perfect spots to snap the best picture for the gram.
Shelton Loop
Leeming
A family favourite, this gem took 80 hours to set up over 500 lights and raises funds to help cure Diabetes. Starting out with just a few strings of fairy lights, they’ve now grown into a huge show that’s unmissable. While in Leeming, make sure you check out Barra Close for some more show-stopping lights.
Panax Court
South Lake
You’ll come for the 15000 lights, but you’ll definitely stay to snap a pic with the handmade Santa’s sleigh and reindeer. Check out the video from last year’s display for a little taste of what’s to be expected.
Yorn Circuit
Beeliar
Forget the lights, we’re in love with the Santa’s Workshop on display. The roof is coated in fairy lights, the little windows giving a glimpse of the toys coming together inside the tiny house. A nutcracker to greet you on arrival, giant stars perfect for pictures and all of Santa’s reindeer tied together on the lawn.
Samson Court
Duncraig
Easily the most lit place to be for Christmas, everyone comes together to create a whole street show of different lights and displays. There’s a bunch of moving features, giant Christmas trees and over 7000 lights. All the neighbours are extremely friendly, so park the car, take a stroll down Samson Court and maybe even snap up a candy cane or two.
Lyon Road
Aubin Grove
If there’s one house you can’t miss this year, it’s definitely this one. As well as having an impressive display of fairy lights, these guys are also hosting events this year that will include face painting and balloon artists for the kidults among us. If you’re in the area, make sure you drive down the road to Kennack Vista for enough lights to knock your socks off.
